  Making Sense of SCIENCE

FREE NGSI Teacher Courses FALL 2018

Our Next Generation Science Implementation (NGSI) Teacher Courses provide teachers with the opportunity to make sense of complex science ideas as adults with an eye toward classroom implementation planning and support. Each NGSI course also has corresponding student units for use in the classroom.
NGSI: Systems for Teachers of Grades K–12
Practice describing and modeling systems, and consider the tradeoffs of a variety of representations of systems. Explore how systems respond to disturbances and investigate what influences a system’s level of stability, including the effects of positive and negative feedback.

MSS Systems Student Unit materials available in fall of 2018 for grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
NGSI: Waves for Teachers of Grades 4–12
Investigate the properties of waves and explore the changes they cause in systems. Use, develop, evaluate, and refine models of waves while being metacognitive about the practice of modeling and exploring strategies for improving modeling skills. Explore the storage, transmission, and playback of digitized sound.

MSS Waves Student Unit materials available in fall of 2018 for grade 8.
