  Making Sense of SCIENCE

Get Involved

Classroom Teachers
Teachers of grades K–12 can engage in professional learning by taking Making Sense of SCIENCE courses, attending conference workshops, and collaborating with others by using our Making Sense of Student Work protocol and formative assessment task banks. We also provide a variety of free resources designed for classroom use.
Teacher Educators
Teacher educators and other staff developers can take part in a Making Sense of SCIENCE Facilitation Academy to learn the principles of effective facilitation, and bring this exciting approach to professional learning back to teachers in your school, district, or region.
District Administrators
Administrators can build capacity in your region by strengthening leadership and providing high-quality professional development for your teachers by sending your science leaders to a Facilitation Academy. You can also work with us to plan a customized training to meet the needs of your district or region to better prepare teachers for changing science standards.
Foundations & Funders
There are lots of ways to invest in Making Sense of SCIENCE — establishing a regional affiliate hub in your area, supporting an existing affiliate, or by investing directly in teachers by sponsoring their participation in a Making Sense of SCIENCE teacher course.
